Accident plans can be very helpful for individuals and families because these policies can save your precious cash reserves. If you or your child breaks a bone or otherwise gets hurt in an accident and you have a high-deductible plan, you would have to pay for the accident out of pocket, but with an accident plan, the accident is covered up to the maximum coverage you purchase (after a $100 deductible). How many of us have active children that have had accidents, or know other people that have had accidents? It is not fun to write out a check for $2,500 or more. The clients I have that have used the policy have more than made up for the small monthly premiums they pay for coverage, and are happy to have purchased this benefit.
WBA (Wholesale Benefits Association) offers the “Accident Shield” policy, starting at $22 per month. They pay when you are injured:
